Grilled BBQ Tofu

Grilled BBQ Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 package extra firm tofu; drained, pressed, and sliced into 6 slices

    I like to press my tofu for about 30 minutes.

  • 34 cup dark beer (can substitute vegetable broth)
  • 13 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce

    I use the sriracha bbq from Trader Joe’s for a little heat

  • 12 sweet onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 14-12 tsp fresh cracked pepper

Steps

  1. Mix together all of the ingredients besides tofu in a large, shallow dish. Carefully place tofu in the marinade, turning to coat. Marinate tofu for minimum 30 minutes. I marinade my tofu in the morning for easy dinner when I get home.
  2. Grease preheated grill. Place tofu on grates and grill for about 7 minutes per side, brushing with leftover marinade. For a quick, easy dinner with less clean up, I like to throw veggies on the grill with the tofu.
    You can also make this on a grill pan, or a non-stick skillet.
